Tyler Watamanuk is a New York-based writer and producer. Currently, he is a contributing style writer at GQ (formerly at Complex) and writes the design newsletter Prunefor Dirt Media. (He previously wrote the Sitting Pretty column/newsletter for Dwell and Meta’s Bulletin.)

He lives in New York’s Hudson River Valley and writes about design, style, and culture. (Also, some humor.) He contributed text to The Men’s Fashion Book(Phaidon) and is working on a book about streetwear for Simon & Schuster (2025).

His writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Vice, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and others.


Prior to writing, he was a touring musician and then spent a decade working at ad agencies.
